'Tree - Blue and Gold'

26" x 30" acrylic impasto on canvas. January 2006. I first created an impasto by applying a heavy structure gel with a palette knife, then painted in a more detailed style over the top using bristle and sable brushes.  The resulting painting is therefore not only detailed, but also very heavily textured.
