'Lucy Farm, Warwickshire'
20" x 16" acrylic impasto on canvas. August 2005.
My personal favourite, this painting is from a photo I took of my father digging the foundations for my grandfather's garden shed.  My grandparents lived on Lucy Farm in Warwickshire, England since shortly before I was born.
Both of them passed away in the last few years, leaving with me over 30 years of happy memories.

I first created an impasto by applying a heavy structure gel with a palette knife, then painted in a more detailed style over the top using bristle and sable brushes.
The resulting painting is therefore not only detailed, but also very heavily textured - the paint protrudes out of the canvas.
