Commissioned by KARE, Ireland, in celebration of their 40th anniversary. The design of the central canvas section is inspired by ideas (a jigsaw, a bridge, and a long road) in three drawings made by unidentified KARE employees. The poem around the edge of the canvas is also by an unidentified KARE employee.
KARE were so delighted with the finished painting that they then commissioned a painted frame.
The above image shows the completed painting and frame. The image to its right is a higher resolution photograph of the central canvas. The image on the far right is the framed painting as seen from an angle, thus clearly showing the shape and finish of the assembled painting and frame.
Irish President Mary McAleese will unveil the painting at KARE's official anniversary celebration in September 2007.
